Hozelock uses multiple layers and different materials in their hoses. Generally speaking the higher the numbers of layers, the better the hose. A smooth outer layer means it glides over garden surfaces. A smooth inner layer gives optimum water flow.
PLEASE NOTE:- Anti-kink or not? Most garden hose sold in major hardware stores in Australia is cheap end of the market braided, a criss-cross, diagonal reinforcing pattern. Only good top quality braided hose such as that used in our Hozelock hose reels is good enough to be anywhere near the flexiblity of true anti-kink Hozelock knitted hoses. By European standards most braided hose cannot be classed as anti twist or anti kink. True anti kink hose is the more expensive knitted pattern. The knitted design reduces torsional twisting. There is a distinctive increase in the ease of use of the very flexible and strong Hozelock knitted garden hose, especially in cool winter weather. You will soon notice the difference as the hose lays just like a rope on the ground.
- Self induced twist. If you coil a long garden hose or even a rope over a post or onto the ground you will induce a twist into it on every coil. It is important to eliminate this by rolling the hose one revolution between your fingers each coil. The use of a reel eliminates this annoyance.
- Water Flow. Lengths of 12.5mm garden hose greater than 25m require town mains water pressure to achieve best flow rate.
