The BioBalls Biological Filter Media is designed to optimise bacteria growth in biological filtrations units.

These BioBalls are made for use as a biological pond filter, with a textured surface that allows for beneficial bacteria to colonise on them.

• Every box includes 100 BioBalls plus a media bag with a drawstring
• Each ball offers a surface area of 30 square inches
• The Bioball uses a paddle wheel design to break waterflow, which helps pond aeration by maximising the dissolved oxygen levels.
• The BioBalls don’t break down like some traditional biological media options, giving you years of simple use without the need for replacement.

Bioballs vs Lava Rock:

• Bioballs provide alternate biological media to Lava rock. Due to the nature of its surface, Lava rock are difficult to clean and hence lose their effectiveness over a period of time. Bioballs are much easier to clean and are useable for longer periods.
• The Paddle wheel design breaks water flow helping in aeration.
• Bioballs are much lighter than Lava rock and hence easier to handle.
