Patented Kaldnes Moving Bed Technology is widely regarded as the most advanced biological filtration process. The individual pieces of plastic K3 biomedia are bouyant and continuously knock into one another. In this dynamic environment only the strongest and most efficient bacteria grip onto the biomedia.K£ Kaldnes has a surface area of 584 square metres per m3.

The dynamic nature of the moving bed ensures that the ammonia and oxygen in the water is evenly distributed among the biomedia so all bacteria can thrive and that it is self cleaning.

Unlike foam, matting, or other forms of static filtration media, the Kaldnes K3 media is designed to move freely within your filter.
